In addition to providing the basics like email addresses, business cards and a professional corporate name and logo to work under, Professional Independents handles: Invoicing - You tell us how many hours you worked, have them approved by the client, and we create and send the invoice directly to the client. Expense
Processing
- We
deduct allowable expenses from your pretax income that reduces your
taxable income. No need to
hassle with expenses at tax time, as your expenses are a part of
Professional Independents books, not yours. If your expenses are
reimbursable by the client, then you are paid 100%. Payroll

We
pay you as an employee, taking care of tax withholdings for federal,
social security and Medicare. We
also pay the employer portion of the taxes.
No need for you to worry with Self Employment taxes, or the
monthly, quarterly and yearly filings required at the corporate level.
We even pay you a set monthly salary that you can count on, while
you are billing, regardless of the speed of your clients’ payments.
Your bonuses are payable as soon as we receive payment from your
client. Health
insurance -
We offer optional plans for nationwide coverage for you and your family. Liability
Protection
- We
provide professional liability coverage for all members for $1M. We also
provide general liability and workers compensation insurance. Your
prospective client will require proof of these policies before you can
begin work and billing. Legal Services - We provide standard contracts, advice and experience that are available to you when you take on a new role with a new or existing client. Other important items: Referral
Bonus Program
- It is easy to earn residual income by leveraging your professional
network. Member
referrals are worth $1,000 and referrals of new clients with jobs for
other members can net 2% of all billings to that client up $10,000.
If you simply refer on a contract opening at an existing client
that gets filled by a member, you get 1% of those billings up to $2,000
- An easy way to make money while creating a cooperative environment for
members to find work.
Your personal network will be multiplied by all of our members
and their networks – which means finding a contract becomes a bit
easier.
Payment Structure - You will always know your billing rate, because we do not mark up your rates. We pay you in salary and bonuses an amount between 75% and 85% of your billing. The exact % is dependent upon the source of your contract.Foreign
Nationals - We
offer visa transfers and sponsorship where feasible.
